Eat well without restriction
The idea that you have to “deprive yourself” to eat well is stubborn and largely false. A balanced meal is built by addition — more vegetables, enough protein, starches matched to your activity — not by punitive subtraction.
A useful visual landmark: half the plate vegetables, a quarter protein, a quarter starch, plus a source of healthy fat. No scale and no calculations for the vast majority of meals.
Calories matter, but consistency matters more. Tracking that takes ten steps per meal always ends up abandoned; tracking you can do with one photo has a chance of lasting.
