Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Daizu.
Daizu is a mobile app for a personalized meal plan. From a profile filled in within a few minutes (tastes, allergies, goal, cooking level), it builds a personalized program, calculates calories, generates a shopping list sorted by aisle, and guides preparation step by step. Everything lives in one app on iOS and Android.
Daizu generates breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks calibrated to your calorie needs and preferences. Each dish comes with cook-mode instructions, and the ingredients are aggregated into a shopping list. You can regenerate or adjust a meal at any time without breaking the rest of the program.
You take a photo of your plate and a vision model identifies the ingredients to estimate calories and macronutrients, without weighing or manual entry. The subscription includes up to 200 scans a day. The day’s total adds up automatically with the meals in your program.
Daizu aggregates the ingredients from every dish in your program into one list, grouped by aisle in store order. You check items off as you go. If you change a meal, the list updates automatically.
Yes. Your goal sets the calorie target and the macronutrient split — whether you are aiming for weight loss, a cut, maintenance, muscle gain, athletic performance, or a more balanced everyday diet. Photo logging and weight tracking let you check your trajectory.
MyFitnessPal relies on manually logging what you ate, and Yuka scores products scanned by barcode; neither builds your program. Daizu starts from the other end: it generates a program adapted to your goal, derives the shopping list, then tracks calories — by recipe for program dishes, by photo for unplanned meals.
Jow mainly offers recipes and a shopping list from manual choices. Daizu builds a full nutrition program calibrated to your profile (goal, allergies, macros) and tracks your intake day to day. You decide less and type less: the program, the shopping, and the tracking are linked.
Every ingredient is filtered against your profile before a dish is offered. The 14 major regulatory allergens are handled natively, and you can add your own exclusions. A dish containing an excluded allergen is never generated.
Yes. Diet is one of your profile settings: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, pescatarian, or no restriction. Every menu respects that choice, including the shopping list and ingredient substitutions.
No. Daizu works by subscription: €11.99 per month or €99.99 per year (about €8.33/month, ~31% off with annual billing), shown clearly at checkout by the App Store or the Play Store. A 7-day trial may be offered; if it is not cancelled before it ends, the paid subscription starts automatically under the store’s rules. No ads, no data resale.
You take a photo of the dish and Daizu estimates calories and macros, which are added to your day’s total. Your program is not broken: you can shift a planned dish, regenerate it, or adjust the meals that follow. Off-plan meals get logged, then you pick up again.
Daizu aggregates your logged meals (program + scans) and shows where you stand against your calorie and macro goal. You can track your weight and see your consistency. The point is to see the trend, not to hit a fixed deadline.
Yes. You enter the number of diners: Daizu adjusts portions and aggregates quantities into one shopping list. Household portions are included in the subscription. There is not yet multi-account sync across several phones.
No. No data is sold to advertisers or third parties, and Daizu does not show ads. Your information is used only to generate your program and your tracking. You can edit or delete your profile at any time.
From the app, you can request account deletion in settings. You can also follow the detailed process on the site’s “Delete my account” page. Data is erased within 30 days, unless a longer legal obligation applies.
A dietitian provides personalized human follow-up but does not handle your shopping or the day-to-day cooking steps. Hand-made menus take time every week. Daizu automates your program, calorie calculation, and shopping list for €11.99/month (or €99.99/year). It does not replace medical advice in case of a health condition.
